Hey kids: It’s okay to eat candy!

That’s right. The occasional piece of candy won’t hurt your teeth if you take a little preventive action. After eating candy — within fifteen minutes or so — chew a piece of sugarless gum, eat an apple, or rinse your mouth out with water. Any of these simple actions will help remove most of the candy lingering on your teeth, and help keep tooth decay at bay.
